Seriously, how come people try to push legislation on things like gun control, which may or may not work in urban areas on areas such as rural America or small towns?

  1. Because city people live in there own little world, and feel that they are master of the world. If you do not believe me just look at how most city people drive. Laws do not apply to them. So they want to change anything that they do not think is good. Guns, naughty language, s*x on tv, if they do not like it it's gone. You never once heard them complain that starbucks raised it's prices. They believe that city living is good, the country is uneducated and dumb. I bet they have no clue that without the farmer no lattes. I am saying this and I was born and raised in New York City.

  2. The fact is that most of our country's population are in cities. Our country is so big, and most of it is still rural, yet country folks are spread out or even isolated. City folk often have no clue about the values of rural or small town America.

I grew up on a tiny island off the coast of Maine with 1200 people. Everything pertained only to our way of life, and we didn't have big city problems to worry about. I moved away at 18 to a big city out West, and never got over the culture shock, even after 8 years.

I finally moved back to start a family, and am happy that where I live now is not really affected by such ridiculous legislation, because it just doesn't apply. What, are the 10 people that live in the 30 mile radius around me going to worry about some big law on gun control? There are no cops here and no one cares.

I prefer the old fashioned way and wish that the federal govt wasn't so powerful.
