Why do people who visit Chennai once never visit again?

There are so many implications like segregating male and female from interacting with each other in schools and colleges. Also it is the most difficult place in India (probably after Meerut) for a man to interact with a woman, or vice versa.

People talk about culture etc, but there are some misappropriation of culture as well e.g. castism, racial discrimination, gender bias etc. Shouldn't these be shunned atleast in this modern life? Shouldn't people be given more freedom?

  1. Whether or not people should be given more freedom is debatable.

The more freedom one has, the more opportunity they have to harm others. Certain freedoms should be bestowed upon certain people.

For example: The right to carry firearms.

Some people should be allowed to have them, some people shouldn't.

Right to vote? Some people should, some people shouldn't.

Right to drive a vehicle? Same thing. (Though, in my opinion, this should be heavily restricted)

  2. cant agree with U Vijay. On the contrary Chennai grows on U.

  3. Chennai is full of cultured people and of course those uncultured people from other places will not appreciate cultured people's traditional values, naturally they wont visit again.

  4. I am not from Chennai.....but from Maharashtra, however I must disagree with your opinion about that lovely city of yours. I do have good friends from Chennai.....and they and their parents whole heartedly had welcomed me at their lovely homes without keeping any bias on the name of caste, creed, or even social status. They did not mind their daughters' having established net friendship with a guy like me unknown to them herebefore, and treated me as if I were among them. As far as interacting with a girl in college campus, at picnic points or vice versa, well, thats the debatable issue falls under social etiquette. But as far my opinion goes I don't think Chennai never have shunned herself on the accounts you mentioned.
