If you have ever looked at a person with hazel eyes ( ido) you notice that their eyes are never one color. My eyes have gold around the pupil and then fleck out into green. Some people's have streaks of gold through them. I just want to know why aren't hazel eyes one color instead of like 3?

  1. Because what we call hazel eyes are those that vary depending on the surroundings.  My eyes are called hazel, but go to dark blue if I wear blue.  It is what it is.  No ones eyes are strictly one color.  Look closely at your friends eyes, and you will notice different colors in all of them, although some colors tend to predominate.

  2. I was told once that one's diet can affect the clarity of the color in one's eyes, although I never took the time to try to verify that scientifically. The way the explanation went, the more "chemicals" you had in your food, the more odd little color spots you'd have in your eyes.

Maybe I ought to see if I can find any "proof" of that theory.
