  1. Prudence allows me to spell my answer in short of long, for you all concerned to inculcate and imbibe the answer as a tribute to ones own applied understanding

We are extants as a biological product of Consciuosness by an Intelligent Design applying all of Nature at its Work-in-Progress.  As such, we as microcosm in our quantum-state are the exquiste alike and an epitome of all the forces of the Cosmos as Macrocosm.  Our Biological System is ordained to have an Auto-tunning and create a Self-balance of its own Worth and Values, that is yet much beyond human's conceptive percepts.

Out of this said, one example is the Yawn... ?

We do yawn... which is indeed an unique and imponderable process of our biological system where the AIR [ Oxygen at 1/5th part, whilst  inclusive of many other molecules and etheric-atoms as 4/5th part.] is been inhaled on force to cogently balance the so-called "Breath-Defeciency".

This Breath-Defeciency is a product of a non-cognitive happening within Us, as a cause that ensues a living continuum to regain its self-balance and auto-tune by the given time to programme a process' regularity of uniformity by a deep and long inflow of AIR into our system in bigger capacity than a normal Breaths, and this does effectuates into the effect, which we normally witness and call it as YAWN...

  2. scientists frequently debate the yawn, and why it is 'contagious' one theory is that it was once a signal to other people (before humans evolved to speak) that they were tired, and were going to sleep, so others can look out for predators etc. the contagious element comes from a kind if signal back. the second argument, and the one i see as most plausible, is that when you are tired you need to get more oxygen to the brain, and this is the function of yawning, and when you see other people getting their 'oxygen high' you do it too. neither are very solidtheoriess, but its the best modern minds could come up with.

  3. cos they are tired and their brain needs more oxygen to be alert. Yawning brings in more oxygen and wakes you up more.

  4. Lake of Oxygen.

  5. We yawn because our brain tells us that we need more oxygen. =)

  6. Your brain receives oxygen from red blood cells. The red blood cells carry their oxygen on a protein called hemoglobin. When you take a breath in the red blood cells grab the oxygen from the lungs, through diffusion, and carry it throughout the body. So... when you are tired, your body is in a very relaxed state and you are not taking in enough oxygen for your red bloods. Therefore, your body forces you to take in more oxygen through yawning. You every wondering why you can yawn sometimes when you work out?? Because you are not breathing in enough oxygen to keep your body happy... so breath when you are lifting weights!!

  7. Not getting enough oxygen to the brain.

  8. so we get more oxygen into our lungs and brain

  9. To diffuse a build up of carbon monoxide in your lungs. The build up is minute, but it is detected by your brain.

  10. scientist actually don't know but they have plenty of theories... also when someone yawns around you start too also..there is no explantion for this..

  11. they're sleepy
