Why do pharmaceutical companies advertise?

Would the price of these advertised and all medicines be less expensive if they did not advertise?

  1. Are you retarted...there trying to selll **** ofcoarse they advertise , they dont  care how much they charge you, there friggin corprate stick it to the man dont take medicine...


  2. It's called DTC which means direct to consumer. They want patients to be aware of their products so they will request them by name from their doctor rather than relying on the doctor to prescribe them as the doctor may prescribe another brand or a generic.

  3. To increase the sales of their products.  The same as any advertiser out there

  4. they want their medicines to be recognized by the people. it is a marketing strategy. yep, those meds do increase in price since specially if the one in the advertisement are a big star.if you want a cheaper brand, go for a generic name.
