Why do pigeons live under train tracks at the station?

  1. I thyink they are living near the tracks, not UNDER them, maybe beneath bridges or underpasses near the tracks. There is almost always grain nearby that has spilled from grain cars, not much interference, relatively few people, they are very adaptable birds.

  5. How can a pigeon get under a train track?  Tracks are usually secured to the ground. I don't get it? I've only ever see rocks or gravel under a track. I didn't think pigeons were iinto digging holes in gravel.
