  1. Go to nationalgeographic.com-- and click on the link to the Dog Whisperer  . it has tons of tips on how to raise him/her to stay within your control. Also try putting on gloves (just in case she tries to bite! better be safe than sorry!!!) then going to her food dish while she's eating. Try petting her as she's chewing, and if she snaps, do what ever you do to displine her. some people prefer smacking dogs, but i don't think that works at all. try clapping or yelling or something to catch her attention. if she isn't aggressive you can be pretty sure that she won't be when she's older. but if she is try taking her to a vet, looking online, or get a trainer. that's what i recommend. Good luck and i hope you two have fun together!!!!

  2. don't abuse him/her and you have nothing to worry about

  3. What well-bred, well-trained APBT have you seen snap and "get violent" unprovoked? The answer would be NONE.

Avoid puppy mills/BYBs who could care less about the temperament of the animals they breed and train and socialize your dog.

  4. Something just blows in them and they are up to no good. Keep him/her in a behaviour class and train them to love people.

  5. so do poodles and labs   just raise your pit right and it wil be fine

  6. They do not snap and get violent, however because of certain genetic qualities...as a breed, they tend to have a disslike for other dogs.  You can avoid this if you socialize your dog regularly.  Most of the ones I have been around have a very sweet disposition.

  7. How they where raised. Not all Pit bulls snap. I use to have a nice one who loved kids. Everyone thinks all Pit Bulls are mean because they are stronge dogs so they are great for dog fights and when a dog is breed for dog fights it's hard to change the dog.

  8. Well, they show pit bulls mean and stuff on commercials, like that LG one, but really they aren't.

Look up pit bull on youtube, they're really sweet :]

All you really have to do it give it love, never hit it, and if he pees on the floor or something, just grab his snout and say no and make him go outside.

But whatever you do, don't be a total a*****e to it.

Like that one saying - There isn't bad dogs, there are only bad owners.

  9. they dont always

give it love and attention and training

    get it from responsible breeders

  10. make sure you get from a responsible breeder.  Raise it properly (get books) and go to obedience training.  Pitbulls are not inclined to get violent.

  11. if you get a well bred Pit Bull you will not have to worry about that at all, Pit Bulls are not human aggressive, unless some idiot gets ahold of them.  They have always been a family dog.

as far as you owning one sounds like you have a lot more research to do before even looking for a pup.

  12. Pitbulls have been bred for years and years not to be humans agressive...it's when irresponsible owners take them and abuse them and abuse them teach them the opposite of whats in their blood which is dog aggression not human agressive that they are a danger.

Treat your dog with love and kindness and you dog shall give love and kindness back.
