Why do plants need sulphur?

If you could explain in a simple form as i don't do biology and some references to good websites would be nice!

  1. It is an ingredient in two of the amino acids, methionine and cysteine. So, plants (and all other life forms) need sulfur to make virtually every protein.

    There are also a variety of other sulfur-containing compounds, but these vary somewhat among different forms of life
