  1. to hide the spot they inject in

  2. It's for Bobby Murcer

Say what you want about the Yankees they honor their own players and hold them in high regard.

  3. It's a tribute to former or current players who died that year. Bobby Murcer, who died of cancer a few weeks ago.  They did the same last year for Corey Lidle, who died in a plane crash in October 2006.  Also, when a player who is known by his uniform number dies, they wear their numbers on their sleeve as well.  Last year, they wore number 10 for Phill Rizzuto.  In 1999, they wore number 5 for Joe Dimaggio.  In 1995, they wore number 7 for Mickey Mantle.

  4. Why not?

  5. for bobby murcer

    rip

  6. In rememberance of Bobby Murcer who recently passed away. They wore one all last season for the death of Cory Lidle and Phil Rizzuto, in fact I beleive they also wore a #10 on their sleeve as well for Phil.

  7. it looks cool
