  1. it is more stable to have a back up guy. otherwise the Speaker of the House would get the job if the President dies, Would you really want to have President Pelosi in charge?

  2. They don't.  He is appointed to the job by the presidential candidate and the delegates follow his wishes.  That is how we ended up with people like Dan Quayle and Al Gore as vice presidents.

  3. Because the vice president used to be the person who was second in the number of votes, and that didn't work out well because the prez and VP were usually rivals and didn't work well together.

So now they pick their own Number Two.

  4. obama please,  russia must leave georgia now

  5. Extremely dumb question.  Do you actually think before you ask a question, or is/are your mouth/fingers just on motor-drive?

  6. Because VP is basically a suck-up position at this point.

Which is why the majority of VPs get slagged when they run themselves.

  7. how much would it suck to be stuck with a person you hate being your closest co-worker and advisory for 4-8 years!

  8. someone's got to hold the drugs!
