Why do politicians on the far left "pretend" they are champions of the poor?

Do our tax dollars really go to help the poor, or do they go into pork barrel projects and to special interest groups in exchange for votes?

Look at historically liberal-run cities: Detroit, Chicago, San Fran, New Orleans...are the poor there any better off today then they were 60 years ago.

  1. Why do politicians on the far right "pretend" they support religious diversity in America?

  2. It's all about control and power. They just have to keep giving out dog bones here and there, and people keep voting for them

  3. I didn't realize Sen. Stevens, king of the pork barrel, was on the "far left"!

  4. Its all covered in exploitation 101 see the democrat handbook, their standard tactic

  5. Our systems designed to keep the poor poor & the rich rich. We need to come to some sort of middle ground.

  6. The words "poverty pimps" ring a bell?  Lip service rules on the Hill and the old pork and lobby racket remains the order of the day.

  7. They are liars like all people on the far left.  You shame them anymore than you can shame a swine by calling it a swine.

  8. my family is all republican. that is what made me want to be a liberal. i don't much appreciate screaming at people's faces in order to get my point across. I will let my intelligence silence them.

Maybe in november we will both be singing different tunes. Until then there isn't much to brag about.

PS no i really doubt the people of new orleans are better off today at all........

  9. You know the answer,Votes, nothing more. That's why right now the Dems are doing such huge "Voter Registration" drives in minority and Poor communities across the Nation, including falsely registering ineligible voters through groups like ACORN.Because the Voting numbers have been going down in many of those communities, which the Dems see as the "Poor People" not doing their part of the bargain. So now through groups like ACORN,they're going to get those minority and poor voter numbers up,even if they have to vote for them.

  10. They are all talk and no action.  This article tells the story:

  11. Because they are.  If it weren't for liberals and the "far left" poor people would be starving on the streets as they did in prior times in history.  The right-wing politicians don't even pretend to care.

  12. I know when I was a child my mother received  food stamps, she would get a little bit of food for 4 kids and sell the rest for beer money. Most of the month we starved.

Now after I was kidnapped and raped, I decides to keep the wonderful life that was growing inside of me. I needed the help of Welfare. They want to know way to much information but if it were not for the system her and I would not have made it nor would I have received any trainning, being my mom hardly ever sent me to school.

So my answer would be yes it does help some and some misuse its benifits to help the needy. It is the tax payers that I am thankful to not the government.

I am proud to be a tax payer and I would rather my tax money go to help those like I once was, but I hate when they use it to pay some one to have an abortion.

  13. If you keep the poor in poverty and pretend to help them by giving them handouts instead of jobs they will forever be in your debt. How ever, if you give them a real job and teach them that they can get out of the hole that has been dug for them to live in, then they learn to think for themselves, that is dangerous for Liberals.

Tribeca. When it comes to a contest as to who gives a greater part pf their wealth to benefit the poor, the Conservatives have the Liberals beat by far. They open their pockets to charities far more often than Liberals. This is proven fact. The Liberals idea of charity is to tax us and give part of it to the poor and to spend the rest of it on them selves for their special projects.

    Chosen 1

New Orleans was under the control of a Democratic Mayor and a Democratic Governor. Who chose to ignore advise from Fema and it did more to cause the disaster than anything Fema did. It was the most powerful Catastrophe ever to hit the United States. Do you think that you or anyone that you know could have really done any better? I think not. When it comes to the levies in New Orleans they had been long neglected by by all elected officials for many years so you can not place the blame on one political entity! Wake up!

  14. In San Fransisco they managed to drive out all those who are poor by restricting the ability to build residential homes and apartment buildings, so most everyone there is now rich.  Of course, that means the poor and middle class are now just living further away from San Fransisco and so have to drive further to the city, meaning more traffic and burnt gasoline.  Congratulations!

Obviously the politicians pretend in order to win votes.  That they haven't succeeded despite owning mayorship in most big cities and running Congress for about 30 years there straight could be passed off  by some unseen force, such as "corporations" or "Republicans", even though both attempt to create more wealth for all via capitalism.

  15. Democrats pretend they're champions of the poor to get their votes on election day.  There are more poor people here than rich people.  But they all have the right to vote.

  16. Its called "populism" and basically, you tell the voters that someone has stolen all of their money, and you are going to get it back.

Its the oldest political campaign there is...
