Why do pond fish slant sideways?

this one fish turns on its side and floats. It's an out door fresh water pond, and we live in the tropics. After a while, the fish straightens itself and swims. Our gardener reckons its ill.... can someone please advice me. Thanks.

  1. it has swim bladder disease cook peas then peel them then mush them and finally feed them to the fishes.


  2. I had the same problem with my fish. I took a risk and did an experiment on them. I isolated the sick fish in a large container and added 1/4 teaspoon salt to the water. After 10 - 15 minutes I returned the fish to the pond. It seemed to work. But this is only a suggestion.
