  1. I think being poor or rich depends on your geographical location. If you have time to read the following text at the bottom, you will know that the concept of being poor or rich is dependent on what country you belong to.

    In poor countries disparity between the poor and the rich people is very imminent for the following reasons;

           1. World bank and IMF, where these countries owed lots of money, are controlling almost every major business entity, and by promoting privatization of every single government owned agencies like hospitals, water distribution, steel industries, electricity, energy fuels, etc. (Which, by the way, they always have the controlling powers as part of their austerity measures or conditions in lending their money) Poor people are very much affected because the once free or discounted services they used to enjoy, now they have to pay up at a higher price.

            2. Taxation. Poor countries don't have a good taxation scheme. That is why some people, rich or poor , can always cheat their income taxes. Taxes are one major source of income for the government to function. If the government don't have enough funds to support its citizenry everything goes back in circles, by seeking the services of loan sharks- World Bank, IMF, and the likes.

    In first countries like the UK as an example, disparity between the rich and poor is not that wide.

            1. Good taxation is there. Almost every single thing is taxed from just owning a  television, using a plastic bag for groceries to fueling your cars is systematically taxed. Computerization is used very efficiently creating a good database for its citizens controlling tax evasion.  In return, the government pays back through good social services like free hospitalization, and maintain workable infrastructures. Wide range of financial support is given to its citizenry like free housing for single mothers, disability benefits, job seekers allowance, child support, financial support for alcoholics and depressed etc.

           2. First world countries are the World Bank itself. Austerity measures or conditions doesn't apply to them. Thus, they have a big control on privatization. Almost all basic services are government owned.

    On the hindsight, people are categorized between rich and poor, for one reason - Humans have this inclination to mundane necessities.

  2. because that's what destiny is.

  3. because things are getting more expensive thanks to the gov't they get richer while some people like me just keep going down the drain.

  4. usually poor people, have the mind set of "there is no hope", so when there is no hope there is no drive. when there is no drive people look for the easy way out, and depend on the government example welfare...or other programs like that. Stay poor thats what the left wing government wants you to do. depend on them to support you so they can get votes. its as simple as changing the way you think. This country despite how much people want to blame it on other things, is set up so that poor people can become rich. not as easy as it used to be, but it can be done by anyone that has the will to do it.

    money isn't everything though...
