  1. less loss to earths magnetic field slightly more efficient.


  2. is it to do with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west ,they would get more sunlight and therefor save energy that they use in their plant who knows a sensible quesfion a silly answer

  3. They don't. The steam rises and hits the turbine and therefore the turbine must be facing the ground (not north south east or west!).
