Why do ppl drive at night with their headlights off?

Okay I can somewhat understand if you forget to turn them on or something but do some people think they don't have to because there are streetlights or something? I saw at least five cars over the course of tonight without their headlights on. What is the proper way of notifying them that their headlights are off? Do you flash your lights at them?

Most of the time, I find it's in a newer car that has automatic headlights.  For whatever reason, maybe a faulty sensor or a dead fuse, they didn't come on. I make sure to flash my lights at them a couple of times, and normally they'll turn them right on.  It's usually just a case of the Oopses.

I always flick my lights at them. this seems to work. sometimes you are in a well lid area and you forget. happens to all of us.

Most people just don't realize they are not on. With so many cars nowadays haveing automatic headlights, if they are used to driving a car with them and are in a car without, they may not realize the lights are not on. Plus, there is so much light in city it is not as obvious the lights are not on.

Propper etiquete is to flash your lights at them. Try this a couple of times. If it does not get their attention, there really isn't anything else you can do.

maybe they are using night vision goggles. anyway, its much better to flash your lights at them at least you can see them coming onto you way. by the way, there is no such signal or way to notify them for not turning on of their headlights.

i think it really is just these people not realizing they are  not on, whether they just forgot completely or were on the rd when it was light out and it turned dark and forgot about the lights.

And yeah you should just flash your headlights to let them know cause itis dangerous to other drivers as well.
