Why do ppl freak out on the first day of school?

well iam one of those ppl but why???????well we r seing the same friends...we are just going back to the boring school for 1 whole yr(isnt kinda weird when in school u want the summer vacation to start and during the summer u want school to start!) well now how can i get over this fear?

i dint know that is a very good question but i am going to be in 9th grade this year so i have a different school to go to... it is WAY bigger then our middle school and the rules are different and the people are different...

i think that people get nervas for the first day of school because they want to make a good empression... i know i do!

Well some people freak because they are moving schools.From 5th to middle school.That means more teachers,more classes,people in the hall,bullies and you will not be in the same class as your friends.

It's usually that first-day transition to high school which freaks people out. All the stories and myths really take a toll on the mind. I was nervous on the first day, but it's just school.

And as someone said, the self-image thing. Looking to impress, and wondering what would happen if one were to fail to impress others.

Good question.  I am trying to figure that out myself and I am a teacher.  lol  Relax it will get better after the first day!

I have high anxiety, and I always freaked out as I got older in school. I guess because each year, I had more expected of me. Maaaann, do I remember first starting junior high? The first week, my stomach was in knots. I was getting used to having 7 teachers instead of just one. Also, that meant more people to deal with on a daily basis. I couldn't eat, and felt like I had to go to the bathroom constantly when at times I didn't.
