Also, when in danger, why do they always 'split up' or go find the bad guy alone?

  1. Also run upstairs when being chased inside. Clearly we are stupid.

  2. suspense??

  3. answer to ur first question is b/e if they're chasing you its the same amount of distance. Once you stray from the straightness? you're easier to catch as they can cut corners. Say for example  you were running away in a right triangle with sides measuring 3,4, and 5 with points of A, B, and C. let's say you were running the 3/4 (A-B) side which meant you traveled a distance of 7, but your chaser was chasing you so all they had to run from A-C which was a distance of 5.

they split up because the situation is weighted upon if this bad guy would go free or would one of em slow him down from escaping and receiving injury.

  4. Because running into the police station and having your pursuer shot would lead to a 5 minutes movie with the last 2 minutes being the police patting themselves on the backs and eating donuts?

  5. Cause they are the hero of the film and a hero must be brave!!!

    Cheers!!!

  6. I know! like when they are running away from a train that's on a track, i always think why dont they just make a left? but think about it- when they do those things doesn't it evoke feeling in you that make you wanna shout out "no, stupid! dont do that!"? i think thats the goal.

  7. always?

    or sometimes

  8. Cause screenwriters are dumb.
