Question:

Why do pro-choice advocates defend abortion by saying abortion is alright because it's the woman's body?

It's the woman's body and she can do with it as she pleases. I guess that's true but consider:

If you saw a woman about to commit suicide would you try to stop her? Or-would you just say "it's her body, it's her life, I think I'll just watch her."?

What if your girl friend, wife, sister decided to get large, face covering, x rated, tattoos? Would you try to help her change her mind?

If a woman "shoots up" everyday, would you be like she has that right-it's her body?

Is the fetus/baby within the woman a product of two PEOPLE?

Most places have little or no limit to when an abortion can take place. Ever seen photos of partial birth abortions The woman made the decision to have this done. Ever seen what happens to the child's head? The body-arms, legs, hands, feet, chest.. Can you say crushed, dissected, thrown away, used for experimentation? Ever seen that? Ever seen a woman employing the "right to do to her own body" by participating in such?

Is this being done to her own body or the fetus/baby's own body? When this is done, who's body is it?

I guess my views on abortion are evident. What's yours?

  1. Are you gonna take care of every single baby you stop from being aborted? If not I suggest you just let it be.

  2. I am pro-choice but I do try and talk about the situation.  In some cases, the woman has no choice but to have an abortion.

On the other hand, would you consider adopting a child who is unwanted and unloved?  Many anti-abortionists cry and scream about abortions but how many of them actually adopt a child?  If you are that much against abortion then maybe you should carry the child.

  3. If I saw a woman wanting to commit suicide, and she were in her right mind, I would not stop her (I'm over simplifying this a bit).  I would expect the same for myself.  It's my body, and I should be able to kill myself if I chose.  There are rational reasons for committing suicide (such as suffering from a painful disease).

Many of the examples you use are not fair.  There are rational reasons for an abortion, much of what you bring up are simply crazy.

  4. Suicide:  a choice.  I have no problem with it if someone wants to commit suicide.

Tattoos:  a choice.  I have no problem with it if someone wants to tattoo every inch of their body with x-rated ( or any other kind) of tattoos.

Drugs:  a choice.  I don't care if people do drugs.

Abortion:  a choice.  This is the most personal and intimate of choices and can only be made by the woman in question.  If you don't have a uterus, your viewpoint on this issue is irrelevant.

  5. Why bother trying to change people's minds. People who believe abortion is ok because it's a womans body, only think of themselves...not the life growing inside of them. Utterly selfish people.

It's a waste of time to say anything to these types of people. They just don't know how lucky they were that their parents didn't abort them.

  6. Have you noticed how almost all of your answerers have  completely avoided or rationalized an event that is probably the most horrific crime known to man?  The slaughter of your own flesh and blood,  your own offspring.

They are thoughtlessly and carelessly selling their souls to the devil for the fleeting pat on the back from their friends.  And they call Christians sheep!  *shakes head*

  7. I am pro-life, but I would never argue that it's her body.  It isn't.  I am anti late term/partial birth abortion.

a fetus is about as alive as a cancerous cell, and is, by all definition a parasite. yuu don't think twice about getting treated for cancer or kinlling a leech!

  8. ::: Yawn ::::

I refuse to answer this question for the 10th time in a week or two.  We all know the answer(s) you are interested in reading.  I don't think mine would be one of them.

  9. actually it is always the individuals choice what they do with their body

however there are many reasons that change the outcome, the explanation and the reactions of both the person and others

yes, your views are evident , too much propaganda, scaremongering and paranoia are also evident

  10. Suicide- they are not in the right state of mind. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

    Tattoo- Their body, their choice.

Drugs- That can kill them very easily, and abortion much less easily. Especially if it is being aborted for a medical reason.

I don't know where you live, but hospitals around here have strict limits on abortion dates. Also, another argument is when life begins. Conception, when the heart starts beating, or when it is born Personally, I view life starting at birth.

Hm, I'm not sure why it was deleted. As much as I am annoyed by the content, this is a perfectly valid question and violates no guidelines that I can see. Strange.

  11. Rant all you'd like, I'm still pro-choice.  (;

Edit:  I wouldn't have the nerve to compare suicide to abortion if I were you.  Suicide is much more brutal than abortion is.  The baby, in my opinion, hasn't lived until it's outside the body.  Anyone who has attempted suicide has experienced life.  And wereas abortion really only affects the mother, father, and the fetus, suicide affects friends and family.  It's a lot more devastating.  If you've ever had a friend or family member that's attempted, maybe you'd think twice about posting that.

And as far as tattoos and drugs, I couldn't care less about what tattoos they get, and I would try my hardest to convince them not to use, but in the end it's their decision still.  I have friends who use pot, and although I'm against it, I deal with it and they're still my friends.

  12. Until the the end of the second trimester, a fetus is not able to survive outside the mother, it is entirely dependent on the mother and functions as an additional internal organ. at this stage, the fetus cannot be considered a viable individual, the mother has decision on what to do with this fetus until it can survive on its own.

  13. they cant come up with a logical defence to their pro choice to kill a living baby, so they say it is their body, which of corse it is not, it is the body of a child they want to kill. So they think if they keep repeating it, some will believe that lie, even tho' they know, it is not their body.

  14. The babies body is the one being ripped apart in an abortion. It is murder.

  15. If you're gonna put words in people's mouths, could you use FEWER words next time, please?

    Here's a question for you:

If you people are free, how can it be right to make half of the people SLAVES between the ages of 12 and 50?

Because that's what forced childbirth does to women.

  16. a fetus is not the same as a person. sorry. It will become a person but it isn't at that point.

But to be fair if someone was determined to kill themselves, take drugs etc, I might try to talk to them but I still think they have the right to do whatever they choose, so yeah, that would be fine.

  17. I am pro-choice but I think if the father is willing to take the responsibility then the woman should give the kid to him.  It is quite unfair to waste all that time on a woman only to find that she doesn't want to have your baby, even if it's the right time or may be the right time.  In some ways, it is selfish of her, but on the other hand, it is HER body, yet women expect men to sacrifice life and limb for them.

If a person is committing suicide, I wouldn't mind because they are obviously too stupid to realize that tomorrow may be better.  There is ALWAYS a bright side.

I'll stay with a girl if she gets fat and bald but tattoos on the face - nope.  That is just stupid.

  18. Your comments don't seem to have much to do with the abortion question.

We could have avoided essentially all of this if only the anti-abortion rights people had chosen to be honest about the issue. Instead, the far right saw a potent political weapon to use against Americans, and as a result, we've got a large anti-American right wing movement that has left us with such obviously incompetent "leaders" as Bush and Ashcroft.

  19. Let them kill as many fetuses as they want. Use abortion as birth control. Heck, make abortion retroactive for any criminal or misfit type people; say up to thirty nine years of age. That's my opinion. Human life is worth very little and it's completely worthless at the pre-birth stage. So, now we know where both of us stand.

  20. For your first point--the life that she is about to take is an actual life.  The fetus that is aborted however is a potentional, not an actual.  To me an actual life is more important than a potentional.

Tattoos don't hurt anyone...what is it to me?  If you're offended by it, that's your problem.  If she wanted to get it, if she really wanted it, why not let her.

If the woman isn't hurting anyone else by "shooting up" whatever, so what?  It's her choice.  If she's ready to accept any consequences that come with it let her do it.

And by the way I would love to see your source for your information on partial birth abortion, as it's erroneously called.  That procedure is done usually when a baby dies inside the womb....the fetus is already dead.  In some cases the life of the mother is endangered by carrying the pregnancy in term...those are actually rare cases and most times in those cases the fetus is already dead then as well.  Dissected?  Experimentation?  Yeah, okay.  Cite your source please.

Hate to tell you but your little argument against abortion here is a weak one.

  21. Why do you insist on pulling out the ol' "partial birth abortion" chestnut?  You are, of course, aware that the morning after pill affects a clump of cells, and not a midget residing in a diving costume in the womb...

When you can provide evidence that a zygote looks anything like one of your partial birth abortion pics, I'll switch sides.  Until then, why are you opposed to a woman having the right to choose prior to fetal viability?

Your question makes as much sense as if I asked why we didn't execute juvenile offenders, considering the high recidivism rate...

  22. Well put my friend, I couldn't agree more.

Abortion is like a murder suicide without the suicide.

  23. God holds the Silent Member Responseable,

The Man that was with the Woman at Conception, Of course that Person is for the Women's "Right to choose" It lets Him off the hook,God always goes to the Accountable Person,

  24. Here's a question of my own:

Why are pro-lifers in favor of the death penalty in a proportion of over 90%?... Yet are against abortion?
