Is it just so antivirus software can sell or something. I just don't see ant sense in it. Why create a problem when you already have the solution for it? Someone please enlighten me!

  1. Different people have different reasons. Some create viruses and anti viruses to try to scam you out of your money. Others are just stupid or some make them for fun. I made a few almost viruses before to p**s off my friends. All of mine are harmless dataways and can be deactivated with a hotkey lol.

  2. The spyware antivirus industry is big business!  These companies steal identity, credit card numbers, and extort money from unsuspecting users.  I read somewhere that the top spyware/virus creators have annual revenue in the hundreds of millions of dollars

  3. the answer is : IT'S ALL ABOUT BUSINESS

Try to answer this : do you think there will be a antivirus brand if there's no more virus out there?

Hope you understand what im trying to tell you...

  4. Originally it was a test of prowess, just to prove you can do it, and that yours will be as good or better than others. Recently though we have seen a shift away from this, and towards profit, where computers become slaves to a "bot master" and he then rents out the resources of all those computers to send spam, or other devious things, or where viruses which are really rogue software scam people into thinking they are infected and purchase bogus antivirus software, or keyloggers which steal credit card and bank information which can then be sold. Now days they are mainly used as a way to profit off people and the creators can make some pretty good money from them, imagine making one million dollars from a botnet, it is possible by both renting out the resources and stealing financial information.
