Hi

I am a 6 year vetran of taking psych meds for severe depression anxiety...

Over the years I have noticed a lot of the psychiatric meds prescribed state in their info pages ( and the internet) they have the possibility to cause "SIDE EFFECTS" of depression, suicidal thoughts, and the funniest one I have seen is "The urge to gamble"......

Someone please explain why one would prescribe meds for depression which have the possibility to cause depression, and suicidal thoughts??

I understand ALL meds have side effects, but this particular area intrigues me...

  1. it is apparently a homeopatic drug. In other words it will produce the same symtoms in a well person that you are treating the sick person far

  2. Its SCAM $$$$ >

  3. As a short answer that covers what you are asking, not all listed side affects of drugs are true side affects. During the testing phase if somebody goes crazy (caused by events that do not relate to the drugs or testing) it has to be listed as a possible side affect. As for whether or not the drugs do more harm than good, that is a topic for a different discussion.

  4. If it has positive effects 85% of the time and those effects 2% or less of the time, it's a pretty good bet. Each individual has to decide whether the risk is worse than no treatment at all, and most think it is.

I didn't just pull those numbers out of a hat, either. That's about the real breakdown.
