Why do "seedless" watermelons still have seeds?

  1. "Seedless" fruits and veggies are produced by hybrid plants that are created purposely to make them "seedless". The thing is they still have seeds, they just will never mature or become hard so they r edible just like "seedless" grapes. U can't reproduce a new plant from the seeds so the only way to grow new ones are by cross pollinating different types of plants to create the "seedless" fruit bearing ones. That's y they cost more also.


  2. Well, seedless oranges and grapefruit still have some seeds, too, but as with the watermelon, they are far, far fewer than in the original.
