  1. Who's 'we' ?

    Are you sure everybody's got an MP3 player/walkman ?

Why do TV stations continue when we've 'all' got DVD/VCR's ?

    Pointless question.

  2. Cause we still have people who won't pay $1 to find out they hate a song.

Radio will still be here no matter what... basically when events go down, you listen about it on the radio..you are not gonna download it from the internet in real time to your ipod.

Ipods are basically like cds only safer from getting destroyed.. and we still have radio after cds came out...

And walkman's last I looked usually come with am/fm for a reason (unless you buy say a cd player only)

  3. Content is why.  Mindless listening to the same songs over and over may appeal to some, but others want personal entertainment, news, traffic reports, interesting talk programs or the newest music.  While all stations don't provide these elements, the most successful ones do.  Radio has lost some listeners to ipods and walkmans, but to say that everyone has ipods and walkmans is way off line. A lot do, and a lot listen to radio as well as there other sources of entertainment.  Radio is far from dead or even hurting that bad.  Don't forget, Radio is still FREE.  No buying disks, no paying for downloads, no subscription fees (Except for satelite) and the only cost is listening to the ads that pay the way.

  4. I don't belong to the "we." I also do some part-time freelance work for a local radio station and am convinced that our listeners do not belong to the "we" either.
