  1. I guess it takes a lot of dye to get clothes to be really red.  Whenever I wash new clothes that are red, dark blue, or black, I throw in a Shout Color Catcher into the load.  It does an excellent job of keeping the dye from redepositing on the other clothing in the load.


  2. I think it is just more obvious when it bleeds.  Dark colors just tend to leave things looking dingy.

  3. I don't have an exact answer to your question, except to say that reds always bleed and fade faster than other colors.  That applies to just about everything - paint, fabric dye, you name it.  Must be something in the pigments.
