  1. I don't know why reds fade faster, but they do.  So, try using a hat for the sun.  There are some conditioners that are better for red.  And some hairsprays have UV Inhibitors for hair...use them.  I prefer Modern Organic Products (MOP).  Pools will wreak havoc on your red too.  Rinse out the chlorine when you're done in the pool.

  2. The molecules in red dye are larger than other molecules. So it's harder for them to grasp hold of each other to stay. Imagine a pit full of big beach balls, now all the space between them, all the air pockets. That is the red molecule. The big beach ball! Now with other colors, they vary in size(different size balls) cover a different area, some have more air space, some less.More color, the bigger the ball, less coverage. Less color, smaller ball, more coverage.

    Hope this helps!

  3. they are the brightest colors

  4. because it is un natural man made colour

Browns fade too but not as much

this is because brown is made up of blue red and yellow

blue pigment lasts in hair longer

red can't last very long, neither can yellow

to make reds last longer you need to apply heat, (pop a cap on your hair) and use a blw dryer if you have to!

If you use treatments your colour will last longer.

If your hair is porous (damaged/bleached) the colour won't last long at all!

Try and avoid too much sun, also makes your colour fade
