Why do referees let the hockey players use flat hockey balls instead of getting new ones that are still round?

You don't use balls in hockey you use pucks and they're supposed to be flat and round like that

The problem is when the ball gets cold it deflates, making it flat. LOL

I think because the refs dont give a d**n. Maybe beat up pucks grab the stick better.

They use flat ball for they don't like it to roll and so that it is also hard to hit.
