Why do religious enthusiast compete, like faith is a popularity contest?

If you all claim to believe you exist, why can't that be enough?

Why do people of religiousness feel they have to kill to prove a point?

Is it defeating the purpose of our entire existence completely?

You are aware that this site is designed for those who want to talk about religion. Why not go to the garden site and tell them not to talk about planting. That makes about as much sense as your question. If you don't like the RS site feel free to visit the Lawn&Garden site, please.

Because they doubt their own beliefs, and so have to put up a strong front by ridiculing everyone else's, to show how RIGHTEOUS they are.

Who am I competing with again?

I'm just trying to get to heaven. I do get a little defensive when stereotyped like those above are doing.

However, like Paul said, I'm learning how to be abased and how to be abound.(Phil 4:12)

Religious is hardly the word that should be used to describe these types of people. These people are self righteous and send a horrible example to people that are considering becoming religious.

Because they think they are right and everyone who does not see it that way is in disrespect to there religion.
