  1. most people dont come to eat a buch of rolls, most, only need 1 roll, they put an extra one in just in case someone needs an extra one. but in all honesty it was probably not a plan "to be a odd moment",you just got 3,next time it could be 2 or 4 or 5,honestly do you think they had a meeting to discuss "how many rolls should we give this couple?"

  2. Maybe they want to create a moment of sharing... split it with your date.

  3. Odd numbers look better, you dont have to center anything, or get anything even. Visually, its better.

  4. Funny you should ask.  There is actually a reason for this.  Generally, when dealing with rolls before dinner, about half the patrons want one, and about half the patrons want two...so the general rule of thumb is one-and-a-half rolls per person, which is why two people get three, four people get six, etc.  There's also something about odd numbers looking better when it comes to food, and the idea that "extra" food makes the diner think they're receiving plenty of food for their money, but the real reason is that, in general, half of the people want a second one.

There's absoloutely nothing that obligates one to eat the extras, nor prevents one from asking for more, of course, though I generally discourage eating a whole bunch of any kind of bread to keep from ending up in a "food coma" halfway through your carefully chosen entree.

  5. If this is all you have to complain about, you're very lucky. Split the d**n roll.

  6. lol, just talked about this last night.

when they bring out the three pieces we immediately ask for more.
