  1. Trust me, they're not that cheap.  However, after they go through the dish machine 8 billion times at inferno temps, they get brittle over time.  When plates would break, all I could see was $$$.  And I did not have the fanciest plates in the world.


  2. They usually buy plates in bulk, meaning the quality of the plate is usually less than the quality of the food.

  3. They buy the cheapest, good looking plates.

    You wouldn't want to pay $30 for 5 plates would you?

    Also when you break one, they charge you about $5, even though the plate is probably worth less than $1.

    It's all part of their plan

  4. Cheep plates. Guess they allow for some breakage.

  5. Less expensive dishes means less overhead cost, but it also means less quality.
