Why do rich people not need your investment dollars to keep their profits rolling in?

The do need your investment dollars.  That is how they got rich.  One dollar at a time. /

Diversification.  Their wealth is spread over enough areas that a lack of investment in say the stock market is supplemented by a spike in gold prices, or a real estate market drop is balanced by appreciation in overseas investment.  That and they have a long time horizon.  With enough funds you can wait out the dips and reap the benefit from the inevitable appreciation.
