  1. b/c the town or city does'nt have enough funding or does not care to fix the dips and bumps, or again maybe b/c its fun to go really fast over the dips and bumps and see who can stay in their seat the longest!!

  2. for speeders. if they speed excessively there car will get messed up.

  3. cus of the weather

  4. If you are refering to speedbumps, that is so that people dont speed a lot and will slow down once in a while so that they dont kill themselves and/or others.

If you are refering to cracks in the road, then that is just a crappy job by the people who pave your roads.

  5. Different parts of the road sit in the sun and others are covered by shade.

As these parts of the road naturally start out with a small hole or line, they expand when they lay baking in the sun into a large hole or dip.

Bumps are when these wholes are filled with pavement to make sure tires aren't harmed by them.

  6. because there is

  7. if you live in the north, its from frost heaving- in the south, cheap labor

  8. Every year the government manufactures a certain amount of road signs. I believe the number is 45,000 for just "DIP" signs. Anyway to make a long story short, they have to actually go install dips and bumps to make use of these signs since your tax dollars paid for the signs already. The downside is that they use more tax dollars making the dips and bumps.

  9. Bumps and dips are to slow down speeds maybe in residential, or in an area with high amounts of pedestrians...also dips are used for street water....

  10. when people have a party in each others pants, the car bounces therefore creating dips and bumps are caused from the black road absorbing the heat from the sun and therefore the road expands. haha

  11. thats how the land under it is.

also, the reason 4 pot holes is b/c the salt they use to melt snow and ice destroys the concrete.

  12. because the land that the concrete is on is not a flat

  13. To slow down the crazy speeders that have not yet learned the rules of the road.........................
