Why do roofers make a lot of money?

I have friends who makes a lot of money working as a roofer(putting new shingles on the roof, nailing the new shingles on roof, taking out the old shingles on roof etc...) I think he makes about 200 to 300 for one day of working. why do roofers make so much money??

is the job really that hard???

You tell me: Would you work all day in 100 degree heat, carrying material that weights 50 lbs or more. With the risk of falling off the roof. Did he start off at that pay?

Roofing is physicaly demanding work. On top of that it is very dangerous.... Another thing to consider is its seasonal work in some parts of the USA. These guys have to make the big bucks during the summer to hold them over for the winter or until an inside project or job comes along..... Work with him just one day and you will see what I mean.......
