Why do rosy boa breeders ship in multiples?

everywhere I go breeders ship in multiples and I have yet to read anything about them needing a companion.

They don't mention anything about only shipping in multiples.

Most breeders offer discounts on pairs or trios if they mainly do business with other breeders/dealers.  Some will go so far as to only sell in pairs or trios to help them get rid of the babies faster.  I'm sure plenty of people will sell a single rosy though.
