Why do rugby and soccor playes insist on calling there game football?

Ausralian rules is the only true football game you can only score a goal with your foot and it cant be touched or hit the post

they don't call rugby football they only call soccer football. rugby is rugby.

because that´s their real name:

Football and rugby football.

Soccer is how  the americans named football.

Why do americans call our game of football, "football"?? The only person kicking the ball with a foot is the punter.

Errr. I gotta ask this pretty obvious question....if Australian Rules is "the only true football game", then how come it involves catching, punching, and throwing the ball with the HANDS all the time?????

Probably because unlike our game of American football, football (European) and rugby football actually uses the feet.
