Rugby has no room for momma boys.

Dan Carter (Barely holding on)

Stephen Larkham (This guy made no effort to hide his tears as he cried his river)

Sebastian Chabal (What happened to cave-man?)

Does anyone know anyone else?

  1. In Sports, you play to win!...and when you know you have given your all and still come out Second Best, it hurts deep down!

You need to feel the Passion of the Game to understand what losing is all about!

  2. You should understand, some of those tears arent because they lost. I know for the Kiwi's, they had the hopes & support of every Kiwi in NZ...they know how passionate we are about the game & how much we wanted the Cup to come home, how excited we were that the RWC was starting  & we just backed our boys aaaaall the way.

And when they came home, they didnt know what response they were going to get. But 1000 people turned up at the airport chanting "All Blacks,All Blacks.."

And i bet that almost brought tears to there eyes too...

  3. All 3 players you mentioned were on losing teams so I guess it goes something like this.

You train hard and play hard to be selected to be one of 20 odd players to represent your country at the biggest tournament your sport has to offer.

You put your body on the line and shed blood for your cause. You get knocked down and sometimes out cold, yet you pick yourself up and crack on. Why? Because you are representing your country,

You sweat and bleed, take hit after hit, get up and make tackle after tackle for 80 minutes and when its all over. you realise that it wasnt enough. You feel like you have let your mates and your entire country down.

They are big tough guys but to feel like they have failed is the only thing they cant take.

  4. I have no idea how you can measure and compare the different sports together.

It would be like comparing checkers with chess.

They are all totally different games, so how on earth can compare them to each other?

Regarding your question; this can be answered with the following questions:

Can you imaged how much money the guys you mention could have made if they had won?

Have you ever worked so hard, scarified a lot, putting it before your family, friends and love ones and gave it your all, only for it to go all wrong?

If you were given one chance and only one chance to get what you want before loosing it forever, what would you do if you lost the opportunity to?

Have you ever played for your country before?

The end is near as they are about to play the last two games of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. It will be another 4 more years before the next one and for some of these guys, this will be there last. Some will be too old and others will have to work hard again and there's no guarantee they will be selected again. The moment they have worked so hard for, putting everything else on hold for this one and only moment for some.

Do you think there be no tears when the winner of the World Cup is decided?

  5. Cause there is a lot at stake. These guys give it their all. But suppose guys like you are golfers.

  6. Wtf ! In the case of Larkham its because he gave his all and came up short ! Soccer players are the real poofs and gridiron players arn't much better, with their tights and padding ! However, Rugby League players are pound for pound the toughest there is !

  7. They are not crying like babies.  They love the game passionately and are man enough to show their pain when they lose and sometimes their joy when they win.  If you truly love this wonderful game and are passionate about it, you would understand fully and not post such a stupid question.

  8. If anything most people would have even more respect for these men because of it!  It takes a real man ~ to be man enough to cry!
