Why do scientist like to study meteroid remnants that land on Earth? Why are they useful?

AND...IS evidence about the Martian Meteroid still have some truth, can there be another explanation for the unique formations??

  1. So far they're the only bits of celestial bodies other than the moon that we can get our hands on.


  2. They give us information about the original material that the solar system was made from.

    Hardly any scientists still think the meteorite you are referring to is evidence of life. All the features could have arisen in other ways. Sad but true.

  3. Meteoroid remnants allow scientists to analyze the basic components of the place they're from (e.g. meteoroids from Mars have the same composition as Mars). This gives them important insights into the composition of solar system bodies we could normally not reach. As for the famous meteoroid from Mars, there are chemical and geological ways of forming the formations, as well as life-based ways. That's why the jury is still out as to whether the formations are life based or not.
