Why do seagull attack herrings and birds of prey?

  1. Because they are vicious swines! One killed a Yorkshire terrier in Cornwall a few years back!


  2. Any birds can be territorial or protecting young that will cause them to attack other birds or people..not just gulls.  As far as attacking herrings..they are just trying to eat them to feed themselves.

  3. Hunger.

    As for seagulls  attacking birds of prey -- have not heard of that.   Mostly, birds of prey are able to fight back, and seagulls don't like that.  Also, birds that eat meat don't taste very good.

    Seagulls will attack and eat smaller birds, like pigeons.
