I don't get it. I look up something like Kingdom Animalia, or some phylum, and I get links to sites that say they can sell the category to me. Whats up with so many phoney sites? And how stupid do they think some people are?

  1. Its how the web sites make money. the advertizing.

  2. Out of curiousity, I've clicked on some of those links.  I guess I was lucky, because none were phony. It's all about advertising.  The internet is an expensive place to run... advertising is needed to make it possible.

  3. Some companies are looking for traffic and they know there isn't much competition in some keyword subject areas. Why do companies have late night advertisements? People do buy and the company makes more than they spend in ads...

It's why you get spam email too. :)
