This woman at work always comes to work sick, coughing and sneezing. She tells people, "well, if I'm going to be sick, I might as well give it to the rest of you here".

Anyone want to defend her?

  1. Misery loves company.

"rolling eyes" oh come on...its true.  I'm not defending her, just stating why.

  2. This is a pathologic individual, and doesn't exhibit normative behaviour.

There are professions where an upper respiratory infection isn't an adequate justification to avoid coming to work, but failing to take precautions in the interest of protecting others is genuinely pathologic.

  3. Here's my thing.  Personnel will tell you to stay home if you are sick but then they want to write you up for it.  If you have a real policy that allows sick employees time off, then talk to your human resource person and have them deal with it.  It is rude and not nice of her to say what she has but maybe she just can't afford to take time off..

  4. HAHAHAA THATS THE greatest thing in the world to come to work or school sick and then in a couple of days everyone is sick! i love doing that. lol i don't say it out loud but thats my goal. I would get over my cold first and everyone else would still be sick. to be honest, i like catching other people's cold. does that make me weird?

  5. No, I do not want to defend her reasoning, but I will tell you that taking days off for sickness is counter productive, you might as well be sick and making money rather than being sick, not getting paid and using up days off.

  6. I will not defend her, she's totally wrong. People like her are selfish and mean spirited. She's not coming to work to be a team player. She goes to work sick to purposely infect people and in turn negatively effect the success of the company she works for. How can an assigned project be completed on time if everyone is sick? You and your fellow coworkers need to report her.

  7. Misery loves company..she is a *****...

  8. She might have been joking. Of course there's the saying "Misery loves company."

  9. Oh, that's a nice reason for her to be there. How DARE She come in sick and give it to all of you. My sister got Bronchitis from a woman who came in sick, and then after she was cured, she got Pneumonia from the other woman. She has been out a total of 2 months because on top of that she has bad asthma. Do you believe that woman called her up and said "When are you coming back?? I took penicillian for 2 days and I'm fine." Well, my sister, doesn't get "fine" after 1 dose of pennicilin. Some people are just plain rude. Tell that woman if she won't go home, than you will.

  10. Tell her if she feels like sharing what she has, then she should give you half her paycheck as well.

  11. tell your boss.

  12. People don't like to suffer alone.

  13. Colds can last five days to a week. If everybody stayed home from work for a week every time they got a cold, nobody would EVER get any work done.

It's up to your employer to offer options for sick employees to work from home, which is a good solution.

  14. How did I know it would have been a woman? With you it's always a woman.

    This woman at work....

    I met a woman who....

    A woman in my town...

    Some women I know...

They're not real questions, just scenarios created for you to vent your illogical tripe.

  15. She probably doesn't have any sick leave left.

I prefer to stay home when I'm sick, and most people probably do, but no doubt there are people out there who live to make others unhappy.

    Misery loves company, I guess.

    Cheers :-)

  16. Because it is fun :D hehe

  17. How generous. I'll send her an Advil basket.
