Why do sites say not to turn over turtle eggs when you find them?

Okay, why am i not supposed to turn them over?

How do i know who's a boy, who's a girl?

I am getting some turtle eggs, what do i doi need all the help i can get.

Intelligent answers please ( i dont want to eat them)

  1. eggs are to not be bothered,,, leave them alone and let nature do the job, then you will have no worries


  2. most reptiles eggs should not be rolled it breaks the sack that is inside to protect and nurish the young  turtles are hard to s*x depends on type and age

  3. All reptile eggs develop an air pocket and key blood vessels within 24 hours of being laid. Turning the eggs destroys the air pocket and fragile blood vessels, killing the developing embryo.

    And yes, even though you don't want to hear it, it is best to let nature take it's course... if someone were to collect all the turtle eggs, what would the raccoons eat? Nature is full of risks, allowing the strongest, most well-suited individuals to continue adding to the gene pool while letting weaker individuals feed the stronger.

  4. In the egg there is the developing turtle and there are critical parts the embryo needs. If you roll the egg there is an excellent chance of pinching off those other things so the proper nutrients won't reach the turtle.
