  1. To reduce wind resistance.

  2. aswell as those reasons It is almost impossible to fall over forwards whilst skiing and is much easier to fall backwards

  3. This position helps form an airfoil with the skis and the body. The flyer is then acting like the wing of a plane.  It increases the distance they are airborne

  4. There are actually three very scientific reasons for this:

          1. It helps aerodynamics.

          2. It keeps the skier's weight forward. If your weight is not forward,  the skier will land off balance and possibly on their butt.

          3. It keeps the skiers momentum moving forward. Not leaning forward would result in an increased backwards force on the skier.

    Hope this Helps.

  5. They lean forawrd like that for aerodynamics  they're trying to get as far as possible so when they go down they're like a chute cause the wind can't get past them. Which makes them stay in the air for longer Which also makes them go further.

  6. It creates aerodynamic lift, just like an airplane wing, so they fly further in the air.
