I mean Americans as in citezens from the US.

I'm sorry if they don't have a clearer name-like Panamanians or Irish...they aren't United Staters...

  1. BEcause of the wonderful tropical climate and very economical prices. Costa rica is a tropical paradise with warm climate, rainforests, volcanoes, mountains and great beaches. Also it is a safe and stable country unlike other counties in central america where there are always mini civil wars.

  2. Its cheap so they get more for the money.

  3. The cost of living is low, the weather and the people.

  4. You mean US citizens or Americans (citizens from all the AMERICAN continent)?

  5. Because they like the warm climate, the proximity to beaches and jungles, the cost of living, which is less than in the U.S., so that with a Social Security pension they can live relatively well.  If they come from states where it snows, they enjoy not being so cold!

  6. Costa Rica and Panama are the safest countries in Central America. The cost of living is way cheaper than in the USA,so a retiree's Social Security check will actually last and the medications are affordable also. Many people have their checks direct deposited in banks in the USA and use their ATM and/or debit cards to withdraw money as they need it.The government ususally charges a penalty if they have to send their checks to another country.
