...but when a woman VP is nominated they spit all over her and would rather an unpatriotic, anti-american, socialist would be elected?

Because talk is cheap! Libs are just talkers and Obama is just more of the same.

  1. So, you are saying that people should vote for Palin simply because she is a woman while ignoring the fact that she is a far right extremist?

  2. Because she is a strong CONSERVATIVE woman & that is a treath to their ideolgy that to be a femanist you have to be a Liberal.

  3. Because liberals are hypocrites and their 'equal opportunity' talk only applies to their fellow leftist nut jobs.

  4. Liberals want women to stay home and watch the kids but get paid to do it like the CEO of Exxon by the government.  Actual participation is not an option.

  5. Libs are hypocrites in everything they do and say.

  6. Palin is a neocon. I woudln't vote for her if she was a man, women or a he/she.

  7. It still comes down to ideology.  Interes tingly, why does McCain vote against equal pay initiatives...

  8. What I don't understand is why you ask a question and then answer it yourself.  That completely defeats the purpose of Yahoo Answers.

  9. you tell them! they are all hipocrits and they only support woman that is leftist.

  10. Look, you can accuse him of being a socialist, maybe.  Socialized healthcare... well... we really need to call our country socialist until our police, fire, and education systems are privatized, as well.  So, socialist, maybe.  Is that a terrible thing?  Yeah, if you're a Joe McCarthy worshipper.

I agree with out insofar as we shouldn't be electing any more religious people.

Obama is about as objective as politicians get on race.  The only thing that goes against his objectivity is his forgiveness for segregationist blacks questioning his "blackness."  I would be much less forgiving on that matter, and I wish he would fight back a bit harder, but that will have to be his call.

Anti-american?  What, because he's a democrat?  Because he served his country by working to improve Chicago's local economy?

"Libs," a.k.a. "liberals" are liberal about their acceptance of all people.  Liberal viewpoints historically have been against slavery, against oppresing foreigners, and for women's and minorities' rights.  "Liberal" means that you're against the Joe McCarthy viewpoint that W.A.S.P. culture is the only acceptable one and that everyone else needs to be drug before Congress to explain their liberality.

Palin doesn't represent women as much as she represents White Anglo-Saxon Protestant culture, or G.O.P. culture, which some day must differentiate itself from W.A.S.P. culture if it is going to evade a racist label.

Liberal have generally been very open-minded about not putting these labels on conservatives.  Can this be argued?  When more blacks get involved in the democratic party, it will become more vocal, I'm sure.

Conservative means "not so quick to accept."  The acceptance of other ethnic groups, social, and spiritual viewpoints.  Conservative is not a word in politics that means "conservative spenders," although many would love to prove me wrong on that.  It is the backbone of the metality that keeps the disenfranchised impoverished and the allfuent free from feeling guilt.  This comes from a religious viewpoint that your wealth is a sign from God that you are living according to his wishes, and therefore need not have pity on the lowly beggars you step over on your way to church to pay your tithing.

I guess I'm a person who says, "believe in God, but not religion."  I feel that people who worship other people while worshipping God cannot be trusted because they put many other people down when they elevate religious leaders by thinking of them as God emmisaries.

Right or left, I can't believe in a politcal leader who doesn't leave everyone to to believe what they want without trying to influence them or take advantage of them by identifying with their beliefs.  That's about the lowest you can go.

Anyway, Palin is freakin mean.  That's why I don't like her.  She's pretty hot, yeah, but that doesn't mean she can oversee congress.

  11. Palin is no representation of working class women.  She's only representing butt kissing Conservatives.  I wouldn't vote for her if she was the only woman on the ticket.  She's against a woman's right to choose, against keeping polar bears on the endangered species list, and against conservation.  These issues are important to normal American women.

  12. How many Republicans tout family values and stay-at-mom's?

I guess it's just the typical Republican hypocrisy, "Do as I say, not as I do." philosophy.

    Edit...

"I think elections should always be about politics and not gender... "  HAHAHA!

Your question itself makes it about gender... Hypocrite!

    Typical Republican double-talk 5hit!

  13. woman should have legal rights, but I don't want someone that believes the earth is 6000 years old possibly being President if Mccain is elected and dies.... Its not that she's a woman, its thats she's a crazy evangelical.

  14. Not my election, but to give my tuppence worth, maybe the issue is about politics rather than gender...

  15. Its first time Republicans selected a woman for VP post because they wanted to use her for getting Hillary votes. Republicans too know that there were more eligible people in their party.

  16. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Palin is everything the feminist movement says a woman can be, except she's conservative.

Side note:  I don't think the average American woman spends much time at all thinking about polar bears.

    Just sayin'.

  17. Palin is the woman chosen to appease people opposed to feminism. I oppose her stance on reproductive rights:

Palin is opposed to a woman's right to have an abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.

Feminists for Life is a group that she is a member of, and it opposes hormonal contraception and IUDS (over half of all birth control - and soon to be mine) because it can potentially (never proven) prevent a fertilized egg from turning into a pregnancy. A pro-life group also picketed outside a birth control clinic near my home and videotaped the women going in.

I am sick of this evangelical nonsense.

I am not going to vote for a religious extremist who will have a say in the Supreme Court when more judges retire.

That being said, I support Obama's platform on many issues (particularly War in Iraq).

  18. That is true. By equal rights they mean the right to abort, that's mainly is the platform of them. Palin is against abortion so therefore they see her as an agent of intolerance and evil. In their own mind, they're justifying their acts of attacking this woman because she isn't one of them.

  19. Has not a d**n thing to do with her being a woman.

    Its what she stands for.

She wants to take womens rights away, she wants to make the birth control pill illegal. She wants to make abortion illegal in all cases, of even rape and incest....so if some poor girl gets raped by her father or brother PALIN says she should carry the baby....What if that girl, wanted an abortion, so she didnt have to have the child of her father or brother, and wanted to get out of that living situation, and start a new life, go to college..but she cant, because she has to have the baby, therefore loses all hope, and continues the living cycle...How sad. You conservatives are so closed minded. You dont know your *** from a whole in the ground!

So your girlfriend, when she gets knocked up, because palin, made the pill illegal....Hmmmmm...

It has not a thing to do with her being a woman...she d**n sure dont act like she is FOR the women of america, trying to take all of the rights away.

    OBAMA ROCKS!

  20. There is nothing wrong with a woman being in politics, running for president or VP, the problem is the woman who was chosen, they pick her, throw her out there and then complain when we don't embrace someone who stands for everything we are against. The Republicans are making this about gender, race and religion. If you aren't sure about her start reading the information out there, not the Republican lies but the facts, if that doesn't scare you away from her then you are not making an intelligent informed decision.

  21. Women do need equal rights and equal opportunity.

However, if a woman who disagrees with me on every single issue is running for office, I will vote against her.  Just because she's a woman, does NOT mean I think she's a good candidate.

  22. Big chance? You Republicans are a loyal bunch. It would be nice if you would quote Obama to prove your point that he's being sexist. But you are like most right wingers, you start with a conclusion that has nothing to do with facts, and go on from there. Palin isn't unqualified because she's a woman, she's unqualified, period.

  23. If you truly believe that elections should always be about politics and not gender, you must be pretty disappointed in the Republicans right now.  One of , if not the only reason, Palin was selected is because she is a woman....

  24. I think there is plenty of sexism in the democrat's response to Palin.

"Her family needs her - How could she leave her family like that?"

Can you imagine any other situation where a woman would be attacked by liberals for accepting a major promotion?

  25. Pay no attention to these filthy liberals.

They are terrified and in complete damage-control mode.

    I think it's hilarious.
