Why do so many of people who walk at night---wear BLACK!!!???

I've been noticing it for WEEKS...and just now, 2 guys ended up RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I had turned off of one arterial street (with a left turn light) and was going VERY slow...about 5 mph. (I was CREEPING)....they stopped QUICK and put their hand on my hood! It scared me to death! and I rolled my window down and said to them "Why do you all wear BLACK? The guys knew they had crossed without looking...and the colour of their clothes made it impossible for me to see them, so when 2 cars stopped going the opposite direction and proceeded to want to prosecute me, these 2 young guys ran after them and yelled at them "No...No! she's not to blame...it was US!"... I stopped and waited, but no one came...

It was good thing I lived within 2 blocks bcz I was trying to get home so I wouldn't be driving while I was crying---and I was!

So for GAWD's sake, if you're out walking, wear SOMETHING light so you can be seen!!

Seriously, I know what you mean. I live in a college town where a lot of people are out walking and biking at night, and so many of them wear black or really dark colors. I hate it.

One time this one guy was walking his dog, and when I drove by, he had a flashlight that he flashed at me. It looked kinda stupid, but i actually really appreciated it cuz I could easily see him and wouldn't run into him.

so they can pray to the devil because the devil wears black robe and they people that belive in him wear black too or they just want to look like the undertaker.

I totally agree. This is why clothing made with reflectors sewn all over them were invented!

i think it dumb and danger when people wear black or dark color clothes. i have almost hit a person running infront of my truck on the interstate.

a lot of younger people wear it in a goth manner. Of course, there are those who simply like that color best.

So that you can comouflage yourself. So that you don't get caught by other people. I see mant people at night wearing black too.

I simply think there's not much to it except for a lack of thought. By day, when you walk up the street, you don't notice how many people do wear darker colours. But at night its a tad more worrying! Problem is, people don't consciously think if they'll be safe or not - they just go walk anyhow...

its to blend in, if you wear light clothing you'll get caught!
