Why do so many older people like Naruto?

I can understand a 10 year old liking the cartoon, but why do I see 25 year olds talking about it? I've seen the cartoon. I could only bare about 5 minutes of it. What is the mass appeal of this kid's show?

People are into lots of different things.  Everyone has different tastes and likings.  As far as Naruto goes....I'm not really sure I can see why people like it so much, but hey....  And today, though this may sound rude or whatever, people are easily satisfied with less.  Mediocrity is  totally exceptable, and that's what Naruto is....mediocre.  I mean, if someone is buying a dishwasher and one is $2000 dollars more than the other, they may go with the cheaper one.  Not because they want a crappier one....they just either don't want to spend money or they know that they can be content with the cheaper one.  Now if there were only 2 animes existing in the world and Naruto was one of them....well yeah, everyone would probably be watching Naruto.  But there are TONS of different animes/mangas out there, and so many of them are excelent and WAY better than Naruto....but Naruto seems to stand out for some reason.

I, too, don't understand why it's so great.  From your comments above, I can see people defending it, but they don't say WHY!  You can call me a jerk for not liking Naruto, but you're more of the idiot if you can't explain why you like it.  And answers like, "There's lots of bloodbath fights" are useless for information because....well....there are tons of anime/manga that have bloodbath fights!  (and if that's why you like anime so much, you might have some sort of problem....-_-)  Like someone said, the version on Cartoon Network is edited so kids can watch it.  But then again, so is Yugioh and Hamtaro, and you don't see people frothing at the mouth over those shows....

So yeah, it's all a matter of what you like and what kind of anime you're into.  If screaming little blonde kids in orange track suits trying to be ninjas is your thing....then hey, Naruto's for you!....  I encourage you to look around for different anime/manga.  I hope you get some more answers that AREN'T from angry Naruto fans, or better yet, some non bias ones.

because, the manga version is not at all for children, and gaara is teh hottest thing on earth, jiraiya is hilarios, lee DEFINATLEY has a crush on tenten, wth is with tenten and neji? and last but not least, TENTEN KICKS A*S*S*

because they are smart!!!!!!! they probibly read the manga or watach it in japenese it is a very complicated and intresting story but not the american version were they sensor words and cut parts out...it is not a kids show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Narut is a show that any age can watch. Its fascinating in it's own way. SO u can see several different age group watching the anime. Maybe 25 years old like it because its a good plot that they enjoy, there good dialogues and fighting.

Japanesse version are usually better, because it shows several thing that the American one cant show because they think that its innapropriate.

Tv Shows aren't like FisherPrice toys.

There aren't really any "recommended ages" like "for 2-5".

People watch the show because, no matter what their age, there's aspects of it that appeal to them. The fights, the plot, the characters...whatever.

And if YOU could only bear 5 minutes of it, maybe that's because the things that draw others in aren't the same type of things that YOU look for when choosing what to view on television.

Maybe you watch shows that all us Naruto fans don't see the mass appeal of.

It's a personal taste.

And tastes can't be discussed.

The Japanese version is meant for teens and young adults, while the crappy american version is meant for kids. The japanese manga has alot of stuff that isn't appropriate for 10yr olds.

narutois the most awsome thing in the world and shure some people don't like it cause naruto is to hyperactive but thats the best part

and there is really only 2 reasons i watch it

1.naruto and gaara are HOT.

2.all the blood bath battles.

I don't know either. I guess I can consider myself older (19) and I think it is one of THE most overrated anime series out there. It can't compare to shows like YYH, RK, Death Note, etc.
