  1. Who else could have done it the earth can't put garbage and c**p on its self!!!!

  2. Because Men have big ego's and know that they can do everything better than lousy Mother Nature could ever do.

If it was natural, Global Warming would be tepid. But it is so hot that it must be Man made.

  3. Because so-called scientists receive loads of money from Al Gore to say that it is our fault. People never do their own research, either - they believe what they're told on the news!

  4. man did it how could you say that man did it and now we have to fix it

  5. There are many basic scientific facts which can only be explained if the current global warming is being caused by an increased greenhouse effect due to carbon dioxide accumulating in the atmosphere from humans burning fossil fuels.

For example, the planet is warming as much or more during the night than day.  If the warming were due to the Sun, the planet should warm a lot more during the day when the Sun has influence.  Greenhouse gases trap heat all the time, so they warm the planet regardless of time of day.  Another example is that the upper atmosphere is cooling because the greenhouse gases trap the heat in the lower atmosphere.  If warming were due to the Sun, it would be warming all layers of the atmosphere.

We know it's warming, and we've measured how much:

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...

Scientists have a good idea how the Sun and the Earth's natural cycles and volcanoes and all those natural effects change the global climate, so they've gone back and checked to see if they could be responsible for the current global warming.  What they found is:

Over the past 30 years, all solar effects on the global climate have been in the direction of (slight) cooling, not warming.  This is during a very rapid period of global warming.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/62902...

    http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/media/pro...

    A recent study concluded:

“the range of  [Northern Hemisphere]-temperature reconstructions and natural forcing histories…constrain the natural contribution to 20th century warming to be <0.2°C [less than one-third of the total warming].  Anthropogenic forcing must account for the difference between a small natural temperature signal and the observed warming in the late 20th century.”

    http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/104...

You can see this in the third graph here, where the dotted lines are just from natural causes, and the full lines are natural + human causes:

    http://www.pnas.org/content/vol104/issue...

If that’s not enough to convince you the Sun isn’t responsible, consider the fact that no scientific study has ever attributed more than one-third of the warming over the past 30 years to the Sun, and most attribute just 0-10% to the Sun.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

So the Sun certainly isn't a large factor in the current warming.  They've also looked at natural cycles, and found that we should be in the middle of a cooling period right now.

"An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that 'Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.'"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitc...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/ab...

So it's definitely not the Earth's natural cycles.  They looked at volcanoes, and found that

    a) volcanoes cause more global cooling than warming, because the particles they emit block sunlight

    b) humans emit over 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes annually

    http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/Gases/man....

So it's certainly not due to volcanoes.  Then they looked at human greenhouse gas emissions.  We know how much atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased over the past 50 years:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mauna...

And we know from isotope ratios that this increase is due entirely to human emissions from burning fossil fuels.  We know how much of a greenhouse effect these gases like carbon dioxide have, and the increase we've seen is enough to have caused almost all of the warming we've seen over the past 30 years (about 80-90%).  You can see a model of the various factors over the past century here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Clima...

This is enough evidence to convince almost all climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming.

  6. Because they are fools and its rammed down their throats every day to justify taxing us more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. They have to find something that makes them feel like they are doing something worthwhile, making a difference so to say.  All of a sudden - life takes on a new meaning - it's not just about eating-working-sleeping over and over again, now we're saving the world!  Woo-hoo!  Ok, what's next?

  8. It is because we humans have done so much to disrupt the environment.

We have been abusing it that it comes to a point wherein not so natural occurences happen such as global warming.

We humans have been repeatedly told to stop burning plastic, rubber and styrofoam, but we continue to burn them in large quantities; we have been told to segregate garbage, but we have been throwing them anywhere; we have been told and asked to care but we didn't.

We humans have caused this no else did!

Global warming would not occur if only we started to care for the earth from the beginning of time.

It's not yet too late. We can still do something. So I encourage everyone to care!

  9. Men form a social group whose members control some field of activity and who have common aims.Men often clamour short-term gains, they prefer to destruct or pollute environment rather than protect environment

  10. What real difference does it make as to who/what is the cause? The world, from industry right down to each and every individual, needs to do  what it takes to help lessen the effects. As has been said"it's the only one we got"

  11. Most of it is due to man's arrogance, ignorance, greed, the media, and stupidity!

Many people want to believe that man is somehow responsible for 'Global Warming' for a number of reasons

1)Because man has caused so much damage to local environments in the past, they believe that man could actually influence natural events!

2)Most people do not understand even basic science, and are willing to be lead by the media, and their 'gut instincts'.

3)There is a lot of money to be made whenever you have brainwashed enough gullible people into your way of thinking.

4)The so-called scientists which are given the media exposure, generally are not scientists, but lobbyists who claim to be scientists. Also, 'Doom and Gloom' headlines sell much better than basic facts.(which could be quite boring actually)

I could go on, but I hope I may have made my point.

    The facts are:

1)'Global warming' is a natural occurrence, as is 'Global cooling'!

2)CO2 is not, nor ever could be, considered a 'Greenhouse Gas'!

3)Even if CO2 could even be considered as a 'Greenhouse Gas' in any realistic concentrations, the concentrations are so minute as to be completely discarded as a factor, or that a few parts per million increase in concentration could lead to any type of major environmental change!

4)Without some CO2 in the atmosphere, all life on this planet would perish!

5)All scientific evidence points to the fact that increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere never lead to global increases in temperature but always occurred after those periods of time.

This is not only scientific fact, but science that makes sense.

Carbon dioxide dissolves much more readily in cold water than warm water.

As the oceans temperature begins to rise, it no longer is able to keep the CO2 in solution.

In other words the oceans may turn from a 'sink'(absorbing),

    into a 'source',(producing, or releasing).

All of the so-called scientist conveniently over-look any real science!

I have to ask myself why that is?

I suspect that they either are not scientists in the first place, or that they have a hidden agenda!

    You decide!

Whatever you do decide should be based on facts and science, not propaganda and BS!

  12. Well that is the way that themedia and many researchers have portay it. It only takes a a small push or comment to create a mas histeria.

In part yes, humans have contributed to some rather large but not exces point in the CO2 accumulation in the environment, there for leading to other problems (to long to explain).

However science has shown that every XXXX thousand years, the earth it self goes into a phase of climate change (the ice age for example), during which Darwins theory is placed in practices (survival of the fittest), giving the different species on this planet the chance to re-adapt to an constant changing universe.

I dont think we can say for certain that global warming is a man made affliction, but yes we have contributed to accelerating the process of NATURAL CLIMATE CHANGE CYCLE

  13. BEACAUSE IT IS! yes, some methane comes from artic tundra, but most of it comes from pollution and overpopulation!  the more people, the more methane and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere! and us humans litter like crazy beasts! it is all our fault and anyone who says other wise dosent no their facts.

  14. Because the evidence for it is overwhelming. The percentage of knowledgable people who still deny it is tiny (and I don't care what the rest believe).

  15. Maybe because it is man made. WE burned millions of years worth of fossil fuels in 100 years. WE cut down nearly half of the forests in the world. WE polluted the air, polluted the water, chopped down the trees, and poisoned the ground. After all this carelessness, how can anyone believe its not us causing this.

  16. Its not that so many actually believe it, its that those few who do, don't ever shut up about it.  Perhaps a few lips stitched together might help.

  17. What you are referring to is AGW. And so many people believe it because so many scientists do.

    About the NAS

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is an honorific society of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific and engineering research, dedicated to the furtherance of science and technology and to their use for the general welfare.

The NAS was signed into being by President Abraham Lincoln on March 3, 1863, at the height of the Civil War. As mandated in its Act of Incorporation, the NAS has, since 1863, served to "investigate, examine, experiment, and report upon any subject of science or art" whenever called upon to do so by any department of the government. Scientific issues would become even more contentious and complex in the years following the war. To keep pace with the growing roles that science and technology would play in public life, the institution that was founded in 1863 eventually expanded to include the National Research Council in 1916, the National Academy of Engineering in 1964, and the Institute of Medicine in 1970. Collectively, the four organizations are known as the National Academies.

Since 1863, the nation's leaders have often turned to the National Academies for advice on the scientific and technological issues that frequently pervade policy decisions. Most of the institution's science policy and technical work is conducted by its operating arm, the National Research Council, created expressly for this purpose. These non-profit organizations provide a public service by working outside the framework of government to ensure independent advice on matters of science, technology, and medicine. They enlist committees of the nation's top scientists, engineers, and other experts, all of whom volunteer their time to study specific concerns. The results of their deliberations have inspired some of America's most significant and lasting efforts to improve the health, education, and welfare of the population. The Academy's service to government has become so essential that Congress and the White House have issued legislation and executive orders over the years that reaffirm its unique role.

The Academy membership is composed of approximately 2,100 members and 380 foreign associates, of whom nearly 200 have won Nobel Prizes. Members and foreign associates of the Academy are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research; election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a scientist or engineer. The Academy is governed by a Council consisting of twelve members (councilors) and five officers, elected from among the Academy membership. Dr. Ralph J. Cicerone is the president of the National Academy of Sciences.

  18. Because they've replaced the Sun with Man as the center of the Solar System...

    What a religion!

  19. its because global warminfg takes place due to emmition of cabon dioxide which is produced mainly due to human activities

  20. Brainwashing...and scare tactics...most of those that believe in global warming think they are going to die soon. Pathetic.

CO2 is mostly produced by the oceans(water) ..man produces an insignificant amount to cause a catastrophic disaster.

Even the weather channel founder believes this is a scam..the only reason you don't hear about the science to debunk it all is because they are afraid of losing money from  gov't grants. In other words its blackmail...some in govt who want to control our lives and find new revenue tell them to believe or lose money.

  21. Because the facts are reasonable as it is overwhelming.

Think about it, capitalism has robbed people from paying too much attention to the environment.  You worry more about losing a job, gas prices, home for closure, basically your own personally future and well-being.  Environmentalist receive minimum recognition because the gov't doesn't like to discuss the non-stop issues that arises from certain advocates who have strong facts and information to argue.

How does the ice banks in the North pole melt so rapidly??

Don't tell me it's because of the polar bears super hot poo.

We are the destroyers of our own planet.

    U.S rank 1st

China 2nd and soon to be first

  22. We live in a vast ocean which we know as the universe. The distances are so immense that we are like a speck on a speck of dust from some remote part of Africa. We can't imagine two hundred years much less 13 billion light years. We have no value except that which we give each other. Our everything has become man centered to offset our obvious insignifance. God is also man centered with every religion maintaining we humans are the crown of all God's creations, even those shrouded in the cosmic oceans of deep space. We are a terrible waste of space if we are all there is.

If we were not self centered we would not be human.

  23. well because everyone is influenced by what television and other media says. its because of scientists. everybody believes this issue because they are they study it and are most knowledgeble in this area.

basically what im trying to say is that people believe global warming is man made is because they are too lazy to make an experiment or find out if it is man made?

  24. Because the best scientists in the country say the scientific data proves it.

This is a good summary, from the eminent National Academy of Sciences.  (And few of them receive any grant money from global warming).

    http://dels.nas.edu/basc/climate-change

  25. It's probably because that's what the evidence suggests.  The climate hasn't ever changed this drastically and rapidly in the past and it certainly isn't due to variance in the Sun's activity as a recent study has shown.

Why do people think it's anything other than man made?  The climate only started changing in this way after the industrial revolution, what does this say to you personally?

  26. Who else could have done it? Undomesticated animals? Who creates all they pollution and emissions? Sea creatures? Why don't you believe it is man made?

  27. Because it is true. water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and CFCs are mostly contributed by industrialisation. before humans, how many cars and factories were present to emit such harmful by-products? and how many more trees were there to clear up carbon dioxide?

  28. Scientific evidence.

Why do so many people fight so hard to deny that global warming is man made?

    Political Ideology.

  29. People are going to start coming around....  The more people look into it, the more people will realize how utterly ridiculous these global warming alarmists are.

My daughter even asked, "Why did Al Gore have to lie in that movie, if the proof was there?"  Simple common sense dictates that the proof is not there and this is the first time in history that science has tried to relay a conclusion without all the pertinent facts.  Notice that every day, some sort of 'research' is uncovered that 'proves' global warming?

See, they have nothing, they are just trying to convince as many people as possible, so they can take those billions in tax dollars to the bank, shut down this country, cause starvation in other countries and keep everyone else from progress.

  30. Because the old adage holds true; if you say something enough, people will believe it.

Global warming may well be occuring, as it has happened in the past, the real problem lies it not knowing the cause in previous cases, most likely warming and cooling cycles common in most dynamic environments, and most likely related to solar activity.  Human impact, on a global scale is so small, has to have no effect.

But the scare media has made global warming into a political buzzword and humans are having a greater influence on climate than natural forces and the results are dire if not reverese immediately.  Not true.

  31. I hope it is a man-made problem.  If its man-made, it can be fixed.
