and have the time of my life - not missing out on anything, traveling all over and only spend about $1,500.00 for everything.

Their Beer - which is the best in the world - 'IMPERIAL & IMPERIAL LIGHT" costs only around $2.60 a six pack and their coffee that is absolutely fantastic costs only around $2.75 a POUND in their grocery stores!

You can not beat that! I found prices down there to be at least one third cheaper than our prices here in the States!

  1. Your the second person that has said that.  My  cousin lives in Costa Rica and absolutely loves it.  He's done well for himself down there....I've gotta go and check it out soon!

  2. I have lived in Costa Rica for the last 10 years.  Yes it is cheap.  Oddly many x-pats are moving to Panama now saying it is cheaper yet.  My biggest problem with Panama  is their beer SUXXS.  is only $.50, but really bad, and they have no Ron Centenario  lol.  I can drink 15 Panama beers and never get a buzz.

    a confirmed Imperial drinker

  3. Compared to things here in the US, Costa Rica is cheap. But, whether something is cheap or expensive is all relative anyway. Compared to Honduras, Costa Rica is more expensive. Going on vacation in Costa Rica compared to Hawaii, it's cheaper, but buying a car or a refridgerator, for example, in Costa Rica it's usually pricier due to import taxes, etc.

It all depends on your perspective!
