Why do so many people commit suicide in Hong Kong?

I was websurfing and came across some random statistics saying that an average of 3 people per day (1,000 per year) commit suicide in Hong Kong.. and that the favoured way of doing so is to jump from a highrise. Does anyone know if (a) this statistic is true? and, (b) if so, why?

They also explain that the rate "exceeds the global average." It may be due to the economic depression. The rates have drop over the past year but what I find strange is that when I googled this topic I came across a site that shows new suicide methods in hong kong called Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Very scary.

i believe 3 people a day commit suicide but i don't believe they have a favored way of suicide.

they dont like their life style i mean students go 7 days a week to school, 365 days a year i wud kill my self too... food they eat dogs cats monkeys yuk! no money...parents need males in the family , if he gets a daughter he might kill her to try again for a male! fucked up ****
