Why do so many people consider it a problem that sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant?

I mean, I'm sorry if this is rather an old topic BUT I've been seeing a lot of negativity on the most random places towards sarah palin just because of her daughter.

Sure it might suggest( or it does) that sarah palin might have been an unfit mother and not have devoted as much time and or attention towards nurturing her children. In case you didn't notice she's worked very hard and achieved A LOT in her political career. This clearly indicates that she WAS DEFINITELY focused on her career, rather than her family. So, If this does happen to be true, why is that a problem? You want her as a vice president, not as your mother. That's what you're voting about aren't you?

And come on, aren't 90 % of politicians, one way or another, ignorant in certain areas? Don't they all make mistakes and focus a bit too much on politics and forget priorities? Seriously, aren't the biggest leaders the ones with the most problems? They still run your country and they still do a good job. ( at least they have in the past, now it's a diff story)

I just don't get what it matters if her daughter is pregnant. It does not reflect on her abilities to lead and make the right decisions for her party. She's been doing great for alaska, so why would her slight inability to focus on both family and career get in the way of her work as a vice president. Most i see happening is her kid going to rehab, but come on sh i t happens all around. No big deal. It just happens to be so that one of the millions of pregnant american teenagers has a very intelligent woman, who also happens to be the governor of Alaska, as a mother.

So again, Why are so many of you worried?

  1. Its just democrats trying to stir up c**p and muddy the waters.  They can't legitimately support their candidate, so they mud-sling instead.

  2. Nobody cares about Palin's daughter being pregnant.

She's not the first or the last unwed teenager to have and keep a baby.

We care about what her mama and John McCain's stances are on teen pregnancy.

Sarah's daughter being pregnant does shine the spotlight on a serious issue in this country.

    Teen Pregnancy.

McCain has fought against teen pregnancy programs his entire time in the Senate.

And Sarah herself is running on a platform of abstinence rather than s*x education. And her daughter being pregnant shows that simply pushing an agenda of abstinence does not work.

So how can she expect to sell that concept to a nation when clearly it hasn't worked in her own household?

  3. Well, in the real world, nobody would care if she got pregnant or not, or whether she was married before

conception or not.  But in the rarified air of James Dobson and his (supposed) followers, it is a catastrophe if a young woman has s*x with anyone before marriage.

I would rather agree with Obama when he says that the politicians families should be "out  of limits" to all news agencies, and especially concerning politician's children.

I would go a lot further and say that any woman becoming pregnant at ANY TIME has nothing to do with politics, and actually, has nothing to do with religion or the church.  A woman's life is private and should not be public, unless of course she is a movie star, then we all

    NEED TO KNOW.

  4. I'm not quite sure, except that I think before this bit of info came out Palin has been presented as a Women who is devoted to family and against s*x ed and against "right to choose" stuff. So her teenage pregnant daugther is now a classic example of why many folks think that s*x ed isn't a bad thing.  that's just a guess...

  5. much to people's surprise.. I am betting that the MAJORITY of voters, of either party.. do NOT condemn or concern themselves with her daughter's situation.  I don't think the loud and nasties (especially in places like here) are a real indication of how people feel.

For me, the reality is that I am concerned with her ability or capacity to be VP, and NO, I do not want her in the White House.  I think she is what we here would call a 'BIG FIISH IN A LITTLE POND".  I don't think she has the experience to be put in the position she has been, and I hold John McCain accountable for this situation. He IS a long time politician.. and should have known to select ANYONE with more long term experience, and he should have been able to anticipate the controversy that she would face.

But then.. I stopped seeing John McCain as a credible and ethical politician, when he used Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, without their consent or backing, to ridicule Obama.

I don't trust his judgement, and Sarah Palin just reinforced that. I am neither sexist, or condemning her, or anyone in her family.  Sadly.. I think it is a false perception (maybe deliberately so).. to claim that she is being unjustly attacked on the basis of her daughter's situation, and people are reacting like mad dogs to defend her.

  6. I dislike the clearly hypocritical difference between what she thinks America should conform to, in regard to her own personal views, and how she's actually raised her own family... The only thing her daughter being pregnant does is make it obvious.

  7. All I have to say is with her daughter being pregnant it is not going to look good when she starts preaching family values.

  8. I don't think it matters in the election but I'm wondering why Palin's husband didn't beat the c**p out of that kid for s******g his daughter.

  9. Because Abstinence works!

    NOT.

My issue is not that her daughter is pregnant, it is that McCain is 74 years old and he should have picked someone who is ready to lead the country.

Sorry, but McCain lost my vote with his radical evangelical inexperienced tart pick.

  10. I have a  problem with a woman who does not finish one job first.
