  1. i don't know why people ignore this ...

i want them treat me right and when i treat them right.

    if they don't then ......

  2. you want to be treated a certain way but sometimes it's just hard to return the favor.

  3. People probably figure that even if they treat others the way they want to be treated that they will still be treated with disrespect and that they'll have been kind for no apparent reason.

Something I've always wondered is how do we treat people if we have a low self esteem and expect to get trampled in life.  Maybe we should treat them the way God would treat them, not how we want to be treated.

    Anyways, just a thought.

    Have a good life.

    : )

  4. The beautiful lioness is right, I mean Viva Liberty...same idea.

It is just how I thought about it too.

  5. Because it goes against human nature, even though it makes good spiritual sense.  Much easier to "go with the flow" of human nature "in the heat of battle."

  6. They simply have never been taught the Golden Rule.

Do to others that you would have them to you.

  7. people have a need to climb over others, which overrides that statement.

  8. I know!  "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"  That's the golden rule and if each and every person followed it, there would be total world peace!  Wow!!

  9. Because ego and pride overcome humility every time. People want to be right, not charitable. It is unfortunate though.

  10. I don't know. I do it, it's not that hard for me..I don't understand why others can't even try.

  11. Perception of one to others.

  12. good question. treat others the way you would like to be treated. now in days thats almost impossible.

its sad, because lots of people think that why should i be nice to that person when there not nice to me.

Since, everyone has felt putdowns or mistreatment, and nothing is done to stop it they just join in and  do the same to others without thinking back to what they felt when they were mistreated.

then they start think in a very selfish/ stupid way like..

why should i care if they dont care about me?

  13. Because they are too busy and selfish!

  14. Selfishness is the bottom-line reason this golden rule is ignored or misapplied.

All of us, to one degree or another, apply this rule unevenly. We remember it when someone treats us badly and then tend to forget it when we are being self-centered.

I got a lot better at living by this golden rule when I let Jesus Christ be my God. The better I know Him, the more natural it becomes to live His way.  I can't overcome my selfishness just by willpower. When I let Jesus live my life inside of me I can do things that amaze me - like forgiving people who hurt me  and sharing with others.

Jesus makes the impossible happen in my life.
