Why do so many people like Dragon Ball?

I'm fully aware that it is an anime. I've seen tons of anime and Dragon Ball, so I think I know that.

Anyway, as I said, I've seen Dragon Ball (all the seasons, but not movies or anything like that), but it was such a long time ago that I hardly remember anything. From what I remember I don't think it was all that great.

Cause it was possibly one of the best animes of its time, and yes i say of its time. I personally loved dragon ball i found it funny, had great plot and action. Good characters, overall it was great

I grew up with dragon ball so its special to me cause it was my first anime

Because Its a Great Anime and most Anime Fans these days were influnced by Dragon Ball to watch other Anime because they really enjoyed it as a Kid

Some people dosent like it but oh well every Anime has Haters

It's great!  It's the great anime classic ever!  It was the most unique anime at the time and is the reason for some many great anime today.  It was the start of a new type of anime and for that I love it!!  I also love the great comedy, action and all the wonderful fight scenes!! :)

I will love the Dragonball series forever!! :)

Because our Generation grew up With it I guess, not a lot of people respect it a lot anymore though = \

IMO, I think it is extremely underrated now, because people are forgetting about DBZ, and watching other Animes like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, when they should pay their respects to DBZ, because all those 3 Animes were influenced by Dragon Ball Z.

Well, watching what we do these days and then looking back on what little we might remember of the series, it does seem kinda bleak.  But when you think about it, in its time it was a very revolutionary anime(kinda like star wars in the 70's, or whenever it first came out i never cared much for it but i wont bash it either).  It was a very new idea that was the cornerstone for many animes we watch today.
